🧠Insightful Learning Theory
Insightful Learning Theory explains learning as a process of sudden understanding, commonly known as the “Aha” experience. Developed under Gestalt Psychology, this theory emphasizes that learning takes place when the learner clearly perceives the relationships among different elements of a problem as a whole.
Unlike mechanical or rote learning, insightful learning is based on understanding, reasoning, and mental organization. The learner does not depend on blind trial and error, but instead arrives at the solution through meaningful insight, making learning more permanent and transferable.
The process of insightful learning involves initial efforts, a brief period of reflection, the sudden moment of insight, and finally generalisation, where the learned principle is applied to similar situations. This approach has important educational implications for effective teaching and learning.
